A First Look Before the Final Cut

STORYSMART® Preview Series 1: Steak Guerrillas

On November 4, we are doing something new for STORYSMART®.

We are launching the STORYSMART® Preview Series with a private, invitation-only screening of Steak Guerrillas, the feature documentary we have spent the past several years developing and producing.

This will be the first of what we expect will be many STORYSMART® Preview Series events.

The idea is simple: every film benefits from a trusted first audience. Before we lock the final cut and prepare Steak Guerrillas for its next stage, we want to put the film in front of people whose reactions and perspectives we value.

The evening will be more than a screening. After the film, we will have a filmmaker conversation and audience discussion, and we will ask our guests to provide candid feedback about what they have just experienced.

That feedback is intended to become part of how STORYSMART® operates. We want to develop a different relationship with our audiences than the traditional studio model typically allows.

Rather than waiting until a finished film reaches the marketplace to learn what audiences think, we want to create opportunities to listen earlier, learn from those reactions and continually improve our work.

It is also part of something larger we are building. We envision a STORYSMART® community that brings together filmmakers, investors and audiences around compelling true stories.

The Preview Series gives that community a meaningful role in the process by allowing invited guests to experience selected projects while they are still being shaped. As STORYSMART® grows, we want that sense of participation and belonging to grow with it.

Steak Guerrillas is an appropriate place to begin.

The November 4 screening at Galleria 6 Cinemas is private and invitation-only, and seating is limited.

We may, however, have a small number of seats available.  If you are interested in attending, please email me directly at ron@storysmart.net.
