Video Storytelling For Celebrities

Helping Accomplished Individuals Own, Preserve & Profit From Their Story
St. Louis, MO – July 24, 2022
– Nobody should own or profit from your story but you. We believe everyone matters and deserves to have their story told in an amazing way on screen with video or film.
That is the foundational premise behind STORYSMART.
Everyone matters and is entitled to have their story shared on screen in the most amazing way possible so they will always be remembered. While most of our work to date has been helping small businesses and non-profits share their stories in a memorable way with video, we have also been helping individuals and families hold onto memories and connect with the ones they love through the power of video storytelling.
Today, we want to share a bit more about the work we are doing to help highly accomplished individuals who have a compelling story to share that may interest a broader audience than just loved ones.
We struggle a bit with how to categorize this class of customers without being exclusionary. Some folks don't see themselves as a celebrity, even though they have some level of fame or notoriety.
We use the term celebrity as a catch-all as there is a certain amount of notoriety attached to the person and they may have the ability to monetize their story.
It could be a retired professional athlete, a Grammy-Award winning musician, an award-winning actor, a successful entrepreneur, a civic or political leader, a civil-rights icon or some other accomplished individual. Or it might be their estate in the case that they are no longer living.
Sadly some of the people with the most compelling stories to tell, don't actually own them. Too often, it isn't until a professional athlete or a celebrity dies that their families realize how little of their loved one's story they own or control.
The studio owns the movies or TV show episodes their mom starred in. The record label owns your parent’s music or the league owns the photos and game footage of their dad playing baseball.
While those may be the contractual realities that a celebrity may face with respect to their body of work, we know they likely have everything they need to share their story on the big or small screen.
We are here to help them or their estate be smart about making the most of their story. Some of it is practical, like helping them organize and digitize all of their personal photos and memorabilia. Some of it comes down to getting the story on film.
Some of done the work of organizing their memorabilia or capturing their story on video, but they haven’t spent the time figuring out how best to monetize their story. We are here to help on all fronts.
We help celebrities make the most of their story for their family and future generations. We help them own their story and tell it professionally as everything we do is a work for hire. We are committed to helping celebrities tell their story well with highest production standards in the industry today and most importantly we ensure they own the copyright on the work.
And where possible, we help them profit from it. Whether that means producing a feature film that is licensed to Netflix, developing a limited edition NFT (non-fungible token) collectible video series or growing their brand on social media, we are here to help celebrities make the most of their unique story.
Every STORYSMART client owns the copyright on the work we do for them. That is part of what makes us unique as a company.
We provide premium motion picture, video storytelling and television show production services using a proprietary STORYSMART method that is delivered as a work-for-hire service that our clients own.
If TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, the New York Times or People Magazine tells the celebrity’s story, they own it. Forever. The celebrity doesn’t. Someone else profits from their name image and likeness (NIL) and their story.
While there is nothing wrong with that approach, we are here to offer a different path for those who want to own their own story and profit from it.
The reality is that a celebrity might be famous because the paparazzi take their photo and sell it to a news outlet, but we also believe it is high time for that celebrity to own their own image and the own story too.
What if the entertainment outlet had to license footage from the celebrity rather than the other way around?
We are well on our way developing a proprietary approach to helping professional athletes and celebrities make the most of their story. In the near future, we plan to be sharing our insights and learnings from the proof of concept work we are doing right now.
In the meantime, let us know how we can help you own your story. As always, it is free to talk to us about how we can help you #getStorySMART and #OwnYourStory with our premium #VideoStorytellingForALL.
